Advent Wreaths 2013

Advent is a countdown to Christmas or well, Jesus’ birthday! This year advent begins for Catholics on Sunday December 1st and in preparation I have gathered a few of my favorite advent wreaths to display during the season. On an advent wreath there are 3 purple candles and one rose colored. The light rose colored candle is lit on the third Sunday of advent because it reminds us to rejoice becasue Christmas is coming. This Sunday is known as Gaudete Sunday because in Latin, the first words of the opening for that day’s Mass are “Gaudete in Domino semper” which translates to “Rejoice in the Lord always”.  Check out these beautiful advent wreaths to display your candles and countdown to Christmas day…
